Q2 Gender Recognition Certificates

Gender is a hot topic with more voices calling for recognition of non-binary gender pronouns.

In the period April to June 2018, 59 people born male and 31 people born female were granted full gender recognition certificates for change in gender – this is an increase on the same period in 2017.

What does this mean for you?

Our society is changing, which means that our workforce is changing. Employers need to be aware of and sensitive to the needs of staff who may be contemplating or going through a gender reassignment process and to staff who don’t identify as either male or female.
